EVENTS

Social Evening, Thursday 8th November.

Following on from the successful summer evening social at Fenny Lock, another evening event is planned this Autumn, at Wetherspoon’s in Bedford, (The Pilgrims’ Progress in Midland Road). A wide variety of food and drink is available, and all members and friends are invited to attend; meet from 19.15 hrs onwards. Marston Vale line folk should catch the 18.31 from Bletchley. Return times are 21.00 or 22.00 from Bedford Midland. To assist with table spaces, an indication of numbers would be helpful, so please ring Richard on 01525 372487 by 6 November to confirm. No deposit or upfront payment is necessary.

BBRUA Annual Autumn Walk,  Saturday 19th September
Starting from Fenny Stratford station at 13.45 hrs. It is a flat 3 - 4 mile, easy going walk. Much of it is along the hard-core MK redways, but a few areas may be muddy. Suitable footwear is therefore recommended.
Catch the 12.55 from Bedford or 13.01 from Bletchley. The route will follow a circular walk south along the Grand Union Canal, then via water meadows paths, and across Watling Street to Dobbie’s Garden Centre for tea and cakes. After about an hour, the walk will continue by more local paths under the A5 and Bedford railway line bridges to reach Caldecotte Lake. After a brief look at the lakeside shore, the walk concludes by returning direct to the canal and Fenny Stratford station. The return train to Bedford leaves at 17.04, and to Bletchley at 17.38. Normal train fares apply. Food and drink are at members’ own expense.
